Exchange of securities

In the Infront Portfolio Manager it is possible to replace a specific security in the portfolio with another. It is important to note that the grandfathered status is retained and any profits or losses made are not taxable in these cases. Possible scenarios include mergers or the issue of new shares.

With the "security swap" transaction type, the "old security" is first Delivery and then the "new security" is Delivery .

To carry out a securities swap, proceed as follows:

1. Open the "Enter transactions" worksheet as described above in the section Enter transactions and select the desired holder if necessary.
2. Open the DEPOT menu in the "Enter transactions" worksheet.
3. Select the SECURITIES EXCHANGE transaction type from the securities account transaction types.
   Use the keyboard to enter a securities exchange with the "Enter transactions" worksheet open as follows: Press the key combination <CTRL>+<1> for the securities account transaction types. Then press the button<W>.
   The "Delivery" dialog box appears.

   Enter the security to be exchanged in the "Security" input field.
   

   To do this, use the "Select security from portfolio" icon.

   The dialog box will then provide you with more detailed information (type, WKN, ISIN) on the selected security.

5. After entering all the data, select the "Next" button.
6. On the second page of the "Delivery" dialog box, enter the number of securities to be delivered (the total number of securities contained in the securities account is displayed) and the valuation price.
   The amount to be paid is zero for these deliveries, unless you specify fees, brokerage or charges.
7. Finally, confirm the delivery of the securities with the "Enter" button.
   The delivery is entered and the "Deposit" dialog box opens directly to deposit the new security.
8. Enter the relevant deposit data here and confirm the transaction with the "Enter" button.
   The securities swap is now booked.
