Number of backends

The number of different backends must be defined as part of the configuration. The more backends are available, the higher the degree of parallelization that can be achieved. However, this degree of parallelization is naturally limited by the available resources.

Pay particular attention to other resource-intensive software that may be running on the same hardware.
