Central server
The central server is the core of the Portfolio Manager Server. It consists of a so-called message queue, the job control and the application server.
A web server also runs here for cloud services and Infront Advisory Solution.
The message queue is the communication center through which the various components exchange data and tasks.
Job control (or "JobControl") is responsible for the execution and monitoring of jobs (e.g. alerting or scheduled reporting).
The application server offers various functions for the clients, such as the document management system. If required, it is also possible to build your own applications on the application server in order to use certain functionalities of the Infront Portfolio Manager environment.
The application server also serves as an interface between the Infront Advisory Solution and the Portfolio Manager Server. The web server runs as part of an "Infront Advisory Solution" environment, but also for the services. It is used to deliver the static parts of the Infront Advisory Solution and acts as a proxy to connect to the market data part of the Infront Advisory Solution on the servers of Infront Financial Technology GmbH.
If the web server runs via an HTTPS connection, activate the "Secure connection" checkbox for the web server in the server configuration tool.
The central server and backend server can run on the same computer - on the same server instance. For larger installations or installations of the Infront Advisory Solution, it is advisable to create another complete installation on at least a second server. On the one hand, this can be activated to replace the primary hardware in the event of a failure.
