Backend types

You can define different backend types in the server configuration:

• Standard
  Standard backends are always required if you use the Portfolio Manager Server. The main calculations of the following job types run via this backend type: Alerting, batch export, scheduled reporting and loss threshold reporting.
  In addition, a large part of the functionality of the Infront Advisory Solution is made available via this backend type. This includes evaluations of tables, charts and reports as well as widgets on dashboards. It is also used for processing activities, editing master data, logging in and out, etc.

  Minimum requirement: 2 backends. If you use the Infront Advisory Solution, at least 4 backends must be configured.

  
  

• Async/Document
  Document management is provided via this backend.
  You also need async backends if you use the Infront Advisory Solution in addition to the Infront Portfolio Manager.

  Recommendation: Set up (at least) two async backends to operate the Infront Advisory Solution.

  
  

• PSI Order Entry
  

  You always need PSI order entry backends if you use the Infront Advisory Solution including the ordering function.

  
  

• PSI Transaction Data
  You always need PSI Transaction Data backends if you want to use jobs of the job types "PSI Transaction Data Retrieval" and "PSI Transaction Data Error Buffer Import".
