Settings for "Memo" type

This setting is for entering longer texts, which can be useful for reporting, for example. Memos can be configured with regard to the number of characters to be entered.

The default setting is 4,000 characters; a minimum of 100 and a maximum of 64,000 characters are possible.

In the list of user-defined fields for the respective object, open memos via the "Edit memo" icon. You can immediately see the status of the memo from the text in front of this icon: <unassigned> for empty memos and the corresponding text start for memos with content. If you point to these texts with the mouse pointer, the text of the memo is displayed in a message window.

You can then enter or edit the text in the "Edit memo" dialog box that appears.

Below the input window you can see the maximum number of characters you can enter.

The commands for cutting, pasting, copying etc. are available via the context menu or the familiar key combinations.

Use the key combination <CTRL>+<A> in the memo field to select the entire text in the field.

Finally, select the "OK" button to end the entry and save the text.
