Owner properties

You can enter the owner properties or master data when you create the owner. However, you can also check or change these at any time. Proceed as follows, for example:

  1. Select the owner and select the PROPERTIES command in the context menu.
    Or highlight the owner and select the "Properties" icon in the Explorer toolbar.
    Or highlight the owner and press the<F12>button.
  2. Make the desired changes in the "Owner properties" dialog box that appears.

  3. The fields in detail:

    Field

    Description

    Holder

    Customer who maintains one or more securities accounts with a bank. This field must be filled in.

    You can use the name or any code name, the owner's name and the actual name do not have to be identical. However, the name of the holder must be unique, i.e. you cannot use the same name twice. You can use this name to access the owner later in the evaluations.

    Enter the "actual" name of the owner, which may differ from the owner's name in the Explorer, using the "Address..." button. This then appears in the "Name" field and is not visible in Explorer, for example. You can also use the "Address..." button to enter the name of this owner's organization, which will appear underneath.

    Address..

    Click on the "Address..." button to open the "Address properties" dialog box. There you can enter or change the address and some additional information about the owner. In the "Address properties" dialog box, you can also enter the customer's tax number, for example.

    Name

    The surname and first name from the address properties.

    Organization

    The organization from the field of the same name in the address properties.

    Bearer no.

    Enter the holder number here.

    This number can be used as a reference when importing data via .

    Compliance type

    Use this selection list to define the compliance type for profiling the holder.

    The default setting here is "MiFID II", Swiss clients can be switched to "FIDLEG" if necessary.

    Customer type

    The classification of clients is one of the fundamental MiFID II requirements. Select the customer type of this owner from the selection list by clicking on it:

    • private customer
    • professional customer
    • suitable counterparty
    • fund portfolio
    • other customer

    Part of the statutory client protection of MiFID II is that all clients who trade in financial instruments are to be divided into different client categories. The purpose of this is to adapt customer protection to the needs of each customer. Private individuals and companies are considered retail investors (private clients). The customer category "Professional customer" includes, for example, large companies and public bodies. Suitable counterparties include government authorities and central banks. The remaining customers who cannot be assigned to any of these categories fall into the "Other customer" category.

    Created on

    Here you can enter the date on which you created the holder. The default setting is the current date.

    Right-click in a date field to quickly select today's date, the day before, the beginning of the month or the beginning of the quarter via the context menu that appears.

    Deactivated on

    If you want to deactivate a holder, e.g. because the corresponding customer has canceled, enter the date here.

    The date of deactivation can be queried via MM-Talk.

    You can display deactivated owners in Explorer; if necessary, read the section Show deactivated depot objects in Explorer.

    Performance calculation from

    Alternatively, you can enter a date here from which you would like the calculations to start for this holder.

    You can use the global settings on the "Depot" tab to specify whether the evaluations apply for this date. If necessary, read the section General securities account settings.

    Remark

    Enter your comments on the owner directly in the text field.

    You can also access the editor for entering or editing comments on the owner directly via the command OWNER, REMARK in the context menu (right mouse button) of the owner in the Explorer.

    Notes/Dates..

    You can save appointments with notes for each holder. Simply click on this button and define them.

    User-defined fields..

    Select the "User-defined fields..." button to open the dialog box with the user-defined fields for this owner and edit them.

    Messages Plausibility checks

    When entering the owner properties, plausibility checks may run in the background depending on your personal configuration. Corresponding messages are then displayed above the buttons.

    Example: "Note: The 'Holder no.' field must be filled."

    To see all other messages, point to the message with the mouse. To see the detailed test results, click on the message.

    In these cases, correct your entries before finalizing them.

    Data status

    Here you can see the data status currently assigned to the owner and (if the data status is set) the date of the last change. Select the "Edit data status" icon to change the data status.

    Change log" icon.

    Select this icon to view the change log for this owner - provided you have the appropriate authorization. The icon is deactivated if authorization is missing.

    The "Change log" icon is only visible if the "Portfolio service change log" module is licensed.

    Reporting

    Enter the following properties on the "Reporting" mini-tab:

    Evaluation currency

    Select the holder's evaluation currency for their report evaluations here.

    The default setting is "n/a". In this case, the default currency from the global settings is used in reports - unless a currency is explicitly selected via the parameters of the report.

    Reporting profile

    Only with licensed module "Portfolio Service Scheduled Reporting".

    The reporting profile assigned to the owner in Scheduled Reporting. If you have created several reporting profiles, you can select a different reporting profile from this list if necessary.

    Reporting frequency

    Select the reporting frequency of the owner in this selection list:

    • monthly
    • quarterly
    • half-yearly
    • annually
    • n/a

    Scheduled Reporting active

    Setting from Scheduled Reporting only available with licensed module "Portfolio Service Scheduled Reporting".

    You should only deactivate this checkbox if you want to (temporarily) deactivate the reporting profile defined for this owner from Scheduled Reporting.

    Last notification

    You will see the date of the last notification of the Scheduled Reporting for this holder as information.

    Reporting language

    Select the desired language (e.g. "English") for customer reporting in the "Reporting language" selection list.

    The owner is then assigned this language for reports. The set language is selected for the "Owner-dependent language" setting in the language selection in the settings or in the quick access bar. However, this may be overlaid by the language set for the reports in a report folder or the language of a job.

    Investment guidelines

    Enter the following properties on the "Investment guidelines" mini-tab:

    Restrictions

    Only available with licensed module "Portfolio Service Extended Portfolio Analysis".

    Here you can see the number of restrictions assigned at owner level. Select the "Restrictions..." button to the right to assign restrictions to the owner or to edit them.

    Tax information

    In the "Owner properties" dialog box, switch to the "Tax details" mini-tab to enter the following properties:

    Tax residence

    Select the tax domicile of this owner from the selection list. The corresponding tax currency is derived from this.

    The default setting is Germany.

    Depending on the tax residence you define for this holder, the tax ratesdefined in the global settings apply by default.

    Married

    Activate this checkbox if the owner is married. This information is particularly important for Abgeltungsteuer .

    Depending on the setting of this field, the default values of the lump sums and the default value of the field "KiSt-Satz Ehepartner" in the transaction data will change.

    Savings lump sum

    Enter the saver's lump sum here.

    The saver's lump sum for the tax country "Germany" is EUR 801 for single people and EUR 1602 for married couples until 2022. From 2023 there will be an increase to 1,000 euros for single people and 2,000 euros for married couples.

    Losses carried forward Speculative gains

    For realized speculative losses, you can enter the amount of the loss carryforward here.

    This loss carryforward from speculative transactions was possible until 2013.

    Loss carried forward Shares

    For realized speculative losses from share transactions, you can enter the amount of the loss carryforward here (withholding tax).

    Capital loss carryforward

    For realized speculative losses from capital assets, you can enter the amount of the loss carryforward here (withholding tax).

    Tax rate

    Enter the estimated tax rate (in percent) of the owner here.

    KiSt rate

    If known, enter the church tax rate here, e.g. "9" for 9%.

    0% corresponds to "no church tax liability".

    KiSt deduction by bank

    Activate this checkbox if the church tax is paid directly by the holder's custodian bank and not only when the investment is made.

    KiSt rate spouse

    If known, enter the church tax rate of the holder's spouse here.

    0% corresponds to "no church tax liability" of the spouse.

    KiSt deduction spouse
    by bank

    Activate this checkbox if the spouse's church tax is paid directly by the custodian bank and not only upon assessment.

    Spouse's share of ownership

    If known, enter the spouse's share of the assets as a percentage.

    The default setting is 0% for single people and 50% for married people.

    Persons
    (modules "Person management" and "Infront Advisory Solution consulting process")

    On the "Persons" mini-tab, you can view and manage the natural persons linked to the owner. To manage people, read the section People.

    The following properties are displayed for the persons linked to the owner:

    Last name

    The surname entered in the person properties.

    First name

    The first name entered in the person properties.

    Link type

    The link type entered in the person properties.

    Miscellaneous

    In the "Owner properties" dialog box, switch to the "Other" tab to enter the following properties:

    Address..

    Click on the "Address..." button to open the "Address properties" dialog box.

    Reference addresses

    Select these buttons to enter reference addresses.

  4. Select "OK" to confirm your changes. Or select "Cancel" to close the dialog box and discard the entries.
