Terms and user guidance
Below you will find a brief explanation of the most important terms and elements of user guidance. The operation and content of the areas are described in more detail in the specified chapters.
Element | Description |
---|---|
Desktop and | You can access almost all functions via the tabs in the ribbon of the Infront Portfolio Manager desktop. You can find out more in the section Desktop. |
Search field | The search field (also "Quick Search") and the object search are central elements for opening objects. Operation and tips can be found in the section Search field and object search. |
Workspaces and | So-called workspaces are created for the various input objects such as holders, securities accounts or funds. A workspace is created by opening an object or several objects (lists). The workspace contains worksheets that you can use to access the main functions of the objects with a click of the mouse. For example, double-clicking on a securities account opens its workspace with the worksheet "Assets" with the subordinate worksheets "Asset overview", "Asset class analysis", etc. In addition to the "Assets" worksheet, there are other worksheets with functions for the open securities account, e.g. "Performance" or "Transactions". Find out more at Workspaces. |
Evaluationarea | All tables, portfolio evaluations, charts and reports are displayed in the evaluation area. |
Explorer and | The Explorer is your access point for all objects - i.e. accounts, securities accounts, portfolios, folders, securities, trading systems and all other elements visible in the Explorer. The Explorer is also used to manage the folders in which you can "collect" and analyze objects. You can find everything you need to know about operation in the sections Explorer and Shelves. |
Context menus | The right mouse button always opens a context menu, regardless of where you are, whether in Explorer or in an evaluation. You can use the context menu to access important functions for the selected object or open evaluations. |
Middle mouse button | If you click on an object in the Explorer with the middle mouse button, the open evaluation for this object is calculated and displayed (provided the new object is of the same type as the previous one). Alternative: Select an object and press the <SPACE BAR>, or select the command MOVE TO OPEN WORKSPACE in the context menu. |
Templates | Many evaluations in the Infront Portfolio Manager, such as chart analyses or portfolio valuations, are based on templates. The advantage is that you can save the selected settings (e.g. font, hidden columns, settings for the period or indicators parameters) and then revert to this template. Descriptions of how to work with the templates can be found in the section Templates. |
