Description of the indicators

All indicators are described in the same way to make it easier for you to use the help, especially during the "learning phase".

The indicator type is named first. This is followed by a brief introduction.

The actual statement and the formula of the indicator are then described. The formula is presented firstly in the usual mathematical form and secondly in the formula language used by Infront Portfolio Manager. At the end, the interpretation is illustrated using chart examples, the standard settings are shown and reference is made to "related" or similar indicators. You will also find out the default settings for the indicators of the basic trading systems already created for you in the program. Please also read the chapter on basic trading systems.

This information gives you the basic knowledge you need to use the indicator. Further details can be found in various books, which we present in detail in the section Literature .

For some indicators, you will receive additional specific literature tips, as their description is less detailed in terms of statement and interpretation in this help. Your standard reference book here should be Das große Buch der Technischen Indikatoren from Thomas Müller Börsenverlag.

When describing the indicators, we generally use a time period in days. If we do not explicitly point this out, you can of course also use weeks, months or (in the real-time area) ticks for the calculation. The corresponding options are available to you in the program in every chart display.
