The formula editor window

When you start the formula editor, a window with several tabs opens.

  • The actual editor in which you enter your formula is located on the "Formula text" tab.
  • The available and used libraries are displayed on the "Libraries" tab. You can move selected libraries between the two fields using the arrow keys.
  • The "Declaration" tab is only displayed if you have opened the formula editor in macro mode. Here you can define the name of a new macro and specify which library it should be assigned to. Use the "Apply to" field to specify the type of input object. If you do not enter anything here, the Infront Portfolio Manager automatically sets "Object" as the input type, i.e. the macro can be applied to all object types. You can use the "List function" checkbox to specify whether it is a list function. The bottom field contains the list of variables used; you can change the order using the two arrow buttons.
  • The "Description" tab is only displayed if you have opened the formula editor in macro mode. You can enter a brief explanation of your macro here; it will be displayed later as info text in the direct help.

The fields on the right-hand side of the window contain lists of the parameters, functions, macros and constants used and string symbols. These fields are automatically updated by the Infront Portfolio Manager, so you will not normally make any changes here.
