Edit alert definitions

Portfolio Service Alerting" module

Proceed as follows to manage alert definitions or configure new alerts:

  1. Select the "Edit alert definitions" icon on the "Reporting" tab.

    The "Edit alert definitions" worksheet opens.

    The visible alert definitions are listed in the left-hand area. The currently selected alert definition is displayed on the right.
  2. Specify the properties of the alert definition. Read the following subsections for details.
  3. You can use the icons to add an alert definition or remove selected alert definitions.
  4. Save the settings with the FILE, SAVE command in the ribbon, the "Save" icon in the quick access toolbar or with the key combination<CTRL>+<S>.
    The alert definitions are saved.

The following functions and properties are available in the "Edit alert definitions" worksheet:

Alert definitions

On the left-hand side you will find the list of alert definitions that have been created and are currently visible to you.

Select the "Create new definition" icon to add a new alert definition to the list.

Select the "Delete selected definition" icon to delete the alert definition highlighted in the list.

The deletion can be undone by clicking on the icon again, as these and all other changes are only written to the database when they are saved.

Delete alerts

To delete alerts of an alert definition, select it in the list and select the command DELETE ALERTS in the context menu (right mouse button).

Name

Enter a (globally unique) name for the alert definition here.

Type

Select the type of alert definition here.

By default, you need an evaluation value based on a template.

To monitor plausibility checks for holders, select the "Plausibility alert" type. For alert definitions of the type "Plausibility alert", some of the settings are unchangeable and therefore grayed out.

Category

A freely definable category.

Enter the name for the category in the input field or select an existing category from the selection list.

Last author

The user who last edited and saved the alert definition.

Mode

Activate the corresponding checkbox for the mode of the selected alert definition - single alert or collective alert.

In the case of collective alerts, there is an alert for the entered object regardless of the number of result rows (if there is more than one). In single alert mode, the number of result rows corresponds to the number of alerts that exist for the object entered.

Select evaluation..

Select this button to assign a table template to the alert definition via the familiar "Open template" dialog box. If necessary, read the section Opening templates.

You will see the currently assigned template displayed under the button.

Select data fields..

Select this button to select the data fields of the alert definition in the "Select columns" dialog box that appears.

Define message..

Select this button to define the alert definition message in the "Define message" dialog box that appears.

Primary zone

The associated zone.

Remark

Enter a comment on the alert definition here, which is helpful for customers as documentation, for example.

Object type

On the right-hand side of the worksheet, you can determine for which object types the alert definition should be available by selecting the corresponding checkboxes.

Another important part of configuring the alert definitions is editing the assigned alert tables, which are completely "normal" tables. If necessary, read the chapter of the same name on working with Tables .
