Search for securities online

You can use the database tool to "outsource" entire security types, e.g. all certificates. If required, you can then search for and import individual certificates online. Read the chapter Database tool.

To search for securities that are not in the local database but are activated according to your subscription data, you can start an online search. Proceed as follows:

  1. Start the object search via the search field in the ribbon.
  2. Select the "Securities" category and enter the search term in the search field at the top of the "Object search" dialog box.
  3. To check whether the security is already in the database, you can first start a "normal" object search using the "Search" button. If the search result does not contain the security you are looking for, continue with the online search.
  4. Start the online search by clicking on the "Look up online" button at the bottom left of the dialog box.

The "Online search" dialog box opens with the online search result.

The online search largely corresponds to the object search in terms of operation with an input field for the search terms, a button to start a new online search and the tabs with the hits found.

    Element

    Description

    Look up" button

If you have entered a new search term (e.g. ISIN, WKN, security number or part of the name of the security) in the input field, click this button to start a new online search.

    Local" column

In this column of the search result you will find information on whether a security was found in the local database ("available" entry) or not.

Click on the column header to sort the search result by locally available or locally non-available securities.

    Import" button

If you have selected one or more hits in the search result, you can add the selected securities to your database using this button.

If corresponding securities already exist, you can overwrite them if you wish.

  5. Select the desired hits in the search result. Multiple selection is possible as usual by holding down the <CTRL> or <SHIFT> key for consecutive hits.
  6. Select the "Import" button.
  7. A security prompt appears for each security to be imported. Use the "Yes" button to confirm the import, and the "All Yes" button to confirm and import all non-existent securities at once. A query is also made in the same way for existing securities, which you can also overwrite collectively with the "All Yes" button.

  8. The confirmed securities appear as search results in the "normal" object search and are now included in the database. The "Online search" dialog box closes. Continue working with the securities from here as usual: For example, open the workspace of a security by double-clicking on it.

You can also use the online search to search for options on securities traded in the USA ("OPRA options"). To do this, enter the name or the vwd symbol of the option you are looking for as the search term. If necessary, read the section Naming conventions in Market Data Pool.

This function is not available for searching for price quotations or for searching for securities account items and folders.
