Edit roles and system roles
Element | Description |
---|---|
Name | Globally unique name of the role. |
Sub-rolls | Use the "Add" button to assign so-called sub-roles to the currently selected role. If necessary, you can remove this assignment of roles again via "Remove". |
Rights | Here you can view or change the rights associated with a role. Depending on whether it is an (object) role or a system role, other rights are listed. Using the context menu, which you open as usual with the right mouse button, you can quickly select and assign all available rights or cancel this selection again. |
Name" column | The name of the right. |
Activated" column | Is the right activated? If the checkbox in this column is activated, i.e. ticked, then the right is active. If the checkbox is grayed out, the right is inherited from a subordinate role. |
Inherited from" column | Here you can see the roles from which the right may have been inherited (see "Activated" column). |
Area" column | Defines the (informational) area to which a right belongs. |
Module" column | If the rights are associated with user-based modules that require a license, these modules are specified here. If a user is assigned a system role that contains a right that is linked to a module, a corresponding license is assigned for this module. If several rights are marked with a module, several different licenses are reduced accordingly. If a user is assigned a right that is linked to a module via an (object) role in a specific zone, a corresponding license is assigned for this module. Please note that no more than one license per user is blocked, regardless of how many zones the user has the corresponding right to. Further information on the modules can be found in the Infront Portfolio Manager online help. Further information on license monitoring can be found in the License monitoringsection. |
Note on the hierarchy
Rights are structured hierarchically (as can be seen from the Explorer structure). If a right is subordinate to another right, the superordinate right may not be removed or the subordinate right may only be activated if the superordinate right is already activated.
In the image above, for example, the "Process activity" right is subordinate to the "Read, create, edit and delete activity" right.
