Nominal value changeover
Par value conversions are corporate actions that are sometimes carried out for shares with a high par value in order to make them more "tradable" for small investors, for example by converting the par value from EUR 50 to EUR 5.
Proceed as follows to enter a nominal value changeover:
- Open the "Enter transactions" worksheet as described above in the section Enter transactions and select the desired holder if necessary.
- Open the DEPOT menu in the "Enter transactions" worksheet.
- Select the transaction type NOMINAL VALUE TRANSACTION at Depot transaction types .
Use the keyboard to enter a nominal value changeover with the "Enter transactions" worksheet open as follows: Press the key combination <CTRL>+<1> for the securities account transaction types. Then press the button<R>.
The "Nominal value changeover" dialog box appears. - Complete or change the information in the fields if necessary. The details can be found in the table in the section Purchaseas they correspond to these.
- Use the "Next" button to switch to the second page of the dialog box.
- Enter the number of new securities in the "Number of new" input field.
You will then see the sum of "Number of old" and "Number of new" in the "Total" field. Entering a negative value in "Number of new" thus reduces the total number. If you confirm the entries with "OK", the nominal value changeover is posted.
Ensure that the new total is correct ("Total" field) and that the order date is correct. Otherwise, errors will occur in the subsequent evaluations.
If you have licensed the "Cost service" module and have an Internet connection to the service, you can also download the associated costs directly from the cost service. If necessary, please also read the section Transactions and cost service.
