Data basis

Report Designer" module

The "Main report" tab is your control center in the design view. This is where the data connection takes place. The elements are described below. Depending on the report design, additional "Subreport" tabs may exist.

In the main window of the draft view, you can see all the report data in an Explorer structure.

  • To enter or change the associated MM-Talk definition, double-click on a table or field. You can move the individual fields in this window using drag & drop.

  • You can rename a table by double-clicking on it after a delay.

In addition, the icons of the associated menu bar are available with the following functions:

New table

Select a table in the main window. Then select the "New table" icon to create another table under this table using the function wizard.

New field

Select a table in the main window. Select the "New field" icon to create a new field under this table using the function wizard.

New table (formula editor)

Select a table in the main window. Select the "New table (formula editor)" icon to create a new table under this table using the formula editor.

New field (formula editor)

Select a table in the main window. Select the "New field (formula editor)" icon to create a new field under this table using the formula editor.

New chart

Select a table in the main window. Select the "New chart" icon to create a chart under this table.

New label

Select this icon to add a new (translatable) label to the report.

In the "Text element" dialog box that appears, enter the desired text in the "Text" input field and then select the "Save" button.

Delete field/table

To delete a selected element in the main window, select the "Delete field/table" icon. The field or table is removed from the report.

Format

Select a field of the type "String" or "Memo". Select the "Format" icon to format the text of the selected field in the report.

Calculate

Select this icon to update the report.

Parameters

Select this icon to view or change the current parameter settings. In the "Parameters" dialog box, you can see all the parameters available for the current report.
