Calculate user-defined security names via formula

You can not only assign the display names of securities manually, but also compile them from other master data components using a naming formula with the help of the MM-Talk formula language. The names calculated in this way are stored in the database in the "Display name" field, unless a name has been entered manually for the security. If necessary, read the previous section Manually assign user-defined security names.

Proceed as follows to store a naming formula for securities:

  1. On the "Configuration" tab, select the PAPER NAME command in the "Further configurations" icon menu.
  2. In the "Configure security names" dialog box that appears, first select whether the WM name should be taken into account in the "Naming" section. In this case, activate the option "WM names and standard names".
  3. Activate the "Calculate names" checkbox.
  4. Then select the "Name formation formula" button.
  5. Enter the desired naming formula in the formula editor that appears.
  6. Confirm the formula with the "Save" button and close the formula editor.
The icon on the "Naming formula" button shows whether an MM-Talk formula is stored by means of the green tick.
  7. Start the name calculation manually once using the "Recalculate name" button.
  8. Close the "Configure security names" dialog box with "OK".
The display names calculated in this way are now primarily used in the Infront Portfolio Manager for the designation of the securities, unless a different display name has been assigned manually.
The recalculation of the names defined in this way takes place in connection with the market data import and after manual changes to the securities master data.
To trigger the recalculation manually - e.g. after a change to the naming formula - select the "Recalculate names" button in the "Configure security names" dialog box.
