What is a signaling system?

Module "Advanced Technical Analysis"

Normally, you look at a chart with various indicators and evaluate the indicators shown there individually - with the "naked" eye. A signal system allows you to combine several indicators and have them evaluated together.

Depending on the settings selected, the system displays signals when one or more indicators generate signals. The evaluation can of course also be carried out automatically after importing current data.

The term "indicator" is primarily used in the Infront Portfolio Manager to describe the pure performance. In the Infront Portfolio Manager, the term "basic trading system" stands for a standard indicator that also provides corresponding buy and sell signals (and also displays these in the chart).

Signal systems are specified by a list of basic trading systems, whereby a weight value is specified for each element for each of the four signal types. In addition to the list, there is a total threshold value for each signal type that must be reached for the combination to generate a signal.

In the delivery status of the Infront Portfolio Manager, some signal systems are defined which you can use as a template for your own systems.
