To create a new empty asset allocation model, proceed as follows:
Select the "Create new asset allocation" icon on the left in the "Asset allocation" field. A new, empty model is created and added to the list.
Enter a meaningful name in the "Name" field.
Now add the desired basic asset class combinations and define the target, minimum and maximum values for these. You can find out how to create and edit basic asset class combinations in the section Edit asset allocation models.
Confirm your settings with "OK".
The "Asset Allocation" dialog box closes and you can assign the newly created model to one or more portfolio versions or portfolio profiles.
If you want to create several new asset allocation models, you do not always have to close the "Asset Allocation" window. As soon as you have completed the settings for a model, simply create another model using the "Create new asset allocation" icon. A dialog box appears asking whether you want to save the changes you have made.
Use the function described in the following section Copy asset allocation modelto quickly create and edit a model pre-assigned with data.
