Create history of a user-defined field

The data entry for historicized user-defined fields takes place in the same place as the entry of non-historicized user-defined fields. If necessary, read the section Use user-defined fields.

In the case of historicized user-defined fields, the currently valid value is displayed next to the name of the user-defined field.

Select the "Edit history" icon to the right to display and edit the history of this field. The icon shows whether the value of the user-defined field has changed over time or whether the same value applies for each point in time:

IconStatus

The value of the user-defined field is the same at all times.

The value of the user-defined field changes over time.

The dialog window for editing the histories is structured similarly for the different data types.

The "Date" column contains the date from which the corresponding value in the right-hand column applies. An empty date field means that the corresponding value applies to dates before the first specified date.

The right-hand column contains the value that is valid from the corresponding date (until the next specified date). Depending on whether the "Empty field allowed" checkbox was activated in the field type definition, the <default value> may also appear in the right-hand column. In this case, the result of the default value formula is returned when the field is queried.
