Elements in the "Trading system optimization" dialog box

Module "Advanced Technical Analysis"

FieldDescription

Optimization until

End date of the observation period for the optimization.

Period

Optimization period in trading days.

Securities/ Folder

The securities for which optimization is to be carried out are inserted in this list field.

You can drag securities and folders from the Explorer into the list field or search for them using the corresponding icon.

Variables/ Assignments

A list of values can be defined for each variable in the formula. If more than one variable is given a list, all value combinations are examined.

The search area can expand quickly as a result. The number of allocations that must be examined for each security with the current settings is displayed above the variable field.

Click on the line that belongs to a variable to open a dialog box for defining the assignments. Enter the values here in text form using the following syntax:

1-th value;...;n-th value

The values can be:

  • a date (e.g. 1.1.99),
  • a truth value (yes/no),
  • a number (e.g. 1.01),
  • a character string (e.g. "linear") or
  • a number range:
    from..to or from..to/step width

    Beispiel

Tolerance: 0..0.03/0.01 = 0 to 3 % in 1 % increments, or period: 5..10;11..30/2;50 = 5 to 10 in steps of 1, 11 to 30 in steps of 2 and the value 50. Note that the range is run through from back to front, so the values 30;28;26;...;12 are formed at 11..30/2.

Start/stop optimization

If the optimization starts, the current settings are automatically saved at the start.

After starting, you can stop the optimization using this button.
