Start database completion

Start your Infront Portfolio Manager on the server.

You will be asked whether you want to complete the database. Answer here with the "Complete database" button.

After an information window appears, which you leave by clicking "Next", the "Complete database" dialog box appears. The data that needs to be imported with your subscriptions to complete your database is already selected here.

In detail, the "Complete database" dialog box contains the following columns and elements:

Column

Description

Import

If necessary, select the files to be imported here by activating or deactivating the respective checkboxes.

Is available

Here you can see whether the listed files may already be contained in your database - in the case of a new installation, no checkboxes are marked in this column.

Subscription

Name of the data subscription.

Remark

Here you can see more detailed information about what happens to this file during import. Examples:

  • "File is being imported."
  • "File is not imported."
  • "File not on this medium."

File name

Exact name of the import files.

History directory

The files to be imported are searched for in this directory. Use the menu, which you can open using the small arrow on the far right, to select a different directory with histories if necessary.

Import" button

Use this button to start the import of the selected files into the database.

Cancel" button

Use this button to close the "Complete database" dialog box without starting the import.

Start the import process using the "Import" button.

Insert the (first) DVD with historical data into the corresponding drive. The data on this data carrier is then read in first. Following this import process, you may be asked to insert another data carrier.

You can also start the completion subsequently via the DATABASE COMPLETION command in the menu of the "Data update" icon on the "Data maintenance" tab in the Infront Portfolio Manager ribbon. Depending on the data subscription, completing the database can take several hours. The progress indicator at the bottom left of the status bar in the main window of your Infront Portfolio Manager will give you an indication after a few minutes.

  • If required, you can import the additional histories later using the IMPORT HISTORICAL DATA command in the menu of the "Data update" icon on the "Data maintenance" tab in the Infront Portfolio Manager ribbon.
  • The command for database completion then changes from DATABASE COMPLETION to FILE IMPORT. In future, you will only need this command in the menu of the "Data update" icon if the import of data has to be started manually.
  • If the database completion is terminated prematurely, you can restart the completion from the Infront Portfolio Manager. If you want to complete the database again at a later date, switch to the "Database" tab in the "Data maintenance" tab in the dialog box with several tabs for settings via the "SET UPDATE DATA" command in the "Data update" icon menu and activate the "Historical data missing, trigger database completion" checkbox and confirm with "OK". The DATABASE COMPLETION command appears again in the menu of the "Data update" icon.
