Backup
The database should be backed up using an appropriate backup tool.
In general, the course system and relational database are linked and must therefore be saved simultaneously (one immediately after the other). When planning, make sure that no data imports are running during the backup and that all users are logged out of the database.
To perform a backup of the database, consult the documentation of the relational database system used (MS-SQL Server or Oracle). Methods that create a regular backup without overwriting previous backups are recommended here. Incremental backups of the database are not recommended, as the course data cannot be backed up incrementally and must therefore always be backed up completely.
To back up the course data of the Infront Portfolio Manager, include the folder "<shared>\<data>" with all contained files and subdirectories in your backup tool.
Check at regular intervals whether the backed-up data can be restored without errors.
You can use the EXPORT DATABASE command in the main menu of the database tool to manually initiate a backup of the database.
