An overview of the steps required for installation

In principle, administrator rights are required to run the installation programs. The installation of the complete system should be carried out in the steps listed here:

  1. Install the database
    Program DVD, execute the file database_setup.exe
  2. Installation of the server
    Program DVD, execute setup.exe file (installation type<Complete>)
  3. Connect server to database
  4. Activation (license download)
  5. Set up database
    1. Option 1: Set up new database
      This option allows you to "test" the new version of Infront Portfolio Manager with a new release database without having to import the existing data from the older installation.
    2. Option 2: Copy existing database from parallel installation
      Here you use the database tool to copy the existing data from your older version to the new database during installation. The older version, including the database, remains operational in parallel.

      During installation,do not connect the newly installed Infront Portfolio Manager directly to the existing older database, but transfer the data to the new installation. A direct connection is possible, but then the older Infront Portfolio Manager (before version 5.50) can no longer connect to its database.
