Edit factors

Changes in capital, dividends, splits and the like lead to changes in share prices. These changes must be corrected for a meaningful securities analysis. The factors are therefore used to adjust price time series.

For the price quotations supplied by Market Data Pool, the factors are usually transferred with the data retrieval and import.

  1. To edit the factors, select the command SECURITY PAPER (or PRICE NOTE), EDIT PRICES/FACTORS in the context menu of a security or a price note.
The "Prices for" dialog box appears for entering the prices.
  2. Select the "Edit factors" icon in the toolbar of the dialog box.

The "Edit factors" dialog box appears.

The dialog box contains some security data for information purposes at the top left. A list of all factors of the security with date, type, value and source of the factor is displayed on the right.

In the "Source" column you can see the origin of the factors. The "Standard" entry stands, for example, for the standard price delivery or self-created factors. If you obtain dividends via subscribed WM data, you will find the entry "WM" for the factors of type "Dividend" etc.

A factor marked in the factor list is displayed in detail at the bottom left ("Factor"). The exact presentation of these details depends on the factor type (dividend, splitting, change in capital, factor (number), dividend factor). The fields "Factor type", "Ex-date", "Price" and "Resulting factor" are visible for each factor type.

The fields in the following table also appear for the various factor types:
