Configure secure interest rates
You can link secure interest rates for each currency to a security (secure interest rate index) and thus always have realistic interest rates for the currencies and thus also for the calculations in your evaluations without manual entry. Examples of such indices are the 3-month Libors or Euribors or economic data such as the yield on government bonds. Useful indices are already stored as standard for the most important currencies. Proceed as follows to view or create safe interest rate indices for currencies:
- On the "Configuration" tab, select the command SECURE INTEREST in the menu of the "Further configurations" icon.
The "Configure secure interest" dialog box appears.
The illustration shows the delivery status of the configuration (for a current database with standard subscriptions). - Select the "Add new currency/interest rate index pair" icon to add a new row to the table.
- In the "Currency" column, use the drop-down list to select a currency.
- You can use the icon on the far right in the "Safe interest rate index" column to search for securities and price quotations and assign them to the currency using the object search.
- Confirm your entries with "OK".
To remove currency/interest rate index pairs, select the entry and then select the "Remove selected currency/interest rate index pair" icon. Confirm the deletion with "OK".
Safe interest rates are included in the calculation of the following key figures, for example:
- Sharpe ratio
- Information ratio
- Jensen-Alpha
- Jensen beta
- Duration
- Fair price of options
- Value at risk
You can export secure interest rate index configurations via the object export and import them via the object import. If necessary, read the section Object export and object import.
A security cannot be deleted from the database as long as it is stored as a safe interest index for a currency.
To process safe interest, you need the system right "Configure safe interest".
